the DustRoom
I started a thread about my SE Boba Fett v2.0 here before and thought I'd start detailing my all-new ESB Boba Fett project.

Initially I had thought about sharing a few components between the costumes but have finally decided that the ESB will be a completely new costume with all new parts; I'm pushing the stops out on this project and want everything to be absolutely spot on using the finest components available.

My new Bobamaker helmet

My new Bobamaker helmet arrived the other day (this is the one I ordered directly from Daz) and the detail of the paintwork is far better and more accurate than the helmet I managed to acquire after ordering this one from Bobamaker.

I've had a good look at both lids today and after scrutiny have deducted that the one I got from directly from Bobamaker is, of course his latest sculpt while the one I managed to acquire after ordering is an older version.

The dents are very slightly different as are a few other features on the lid - he's clearly a total perfectionist as you can only tell when you compare the lids very, very closely.

The lid that I got before the one from Daz arrived; whilst being an absolute work of art isn't as well detailed or as accurate as the new one - this new lid is absolutely amazing - again, the pictures do not do this helmet any justice!

As you can see from the image above the new lid (on the left) is the correct colour while old lid is based more on the ROTJ colours - I can only assume this is because it was painted before Daz got hold of better reference pictures?

The detailing is massively more impressive as well - again; most likely due to the hi-res reference images now available.

Here's some comparison pics detailing both lids:

As you can see both of these helmets are absolutely stunning, the older one is just less detailed than the new one - both have the exact same method of painting used and the kill marks are spot on; just the new lid is far more detailed.

This new helmet will be used with my ESB costume whilst the old version will go beautifully with my SE v2.0 biggrin.gif

Jetpack belt and buckle

The metal buckle seen on the waist belt of Boba Fett's jet pack is a "found item" from a U.S. Divers/Aqua-Lung scuba tank harness.
I've managed to find a genuine 1970's KAM "EZ" PAK which features the correct buckle:

This will provide me with a completely screen-accurate Jetpack belt after a little modification and; of course; add to the overall look of the costume.

I'm very happy to have been able to find this rare item and I'm sure it'll make a great addition to my costume!

Sidewinder ESB EE-3 Blaster

My Sidewinder EE-3 has arrived!

This is amazing, it's not just a cast from a real Webley, it's every part removed and individually cast from a real Webley!

I've seen some good resin cast blasters and props but this is something else, the detail is so crisp and clear, the part numbers are all clearly visible and it just looks fantastic!

Each piece fits together like the real Webley would and the barrel is completely hollow as well; the stock has a foam core to make it lighter and all of the grain from the original wooden stock is all still there!

I can't wait to get started cleaning up the parts and get this built and painted!

Knee Launchers & Gauntlet Darts

Since my Sidewinder EE-3 kit and my KAM EZ PAK have arrived I thought it was time to show some more ESB Fett items I already have.

These are my knee launchers and gauntlet darts, all machined aluminium by Russrep (the same guy I got my boot toe spikes from) - they're really nice items and will enhance the look of the ESB costume I'm sure.

ESB Cape

Following on from my previous post here's my ESB Cape, I got this from TK409 and am very happy with it indeed, it came pre-weathered too.

The quality id very good and the price was great too; anyone looking for an ESB cape I would definitely recommend this one.

Man of War Studios Gauntlets & Metal Parts!

My Man of War Studios ESB Gauntlets have arrived!
These are the finest gauntlets available IMHO and come ready assembled with hinges fitted.

Of course these need primer and painting but they're off to Bobamaker for that wink.gif

My RussRep Missile/Flamer has also arrived, this is a real work of art made from aluminium and brass - this is really going to look the business on the new gauntlets!

Shackman Chest Lights

My Shackman chest lights arrived this morning!

These are excellent quality and feature the screen accurate light sequence - I really wanted a Shackman set for my ESB and was delighted when I was able to get on his final run of these recently on The Dented Helmet.

I'm still waiting for a few parts from the US before I take the plunge and get Bobamaker started on the main parts but some of these have just shipped so it's not long off now biggrin.gif

ESB Flamer

My all metal ESB flamer arrived yesterday, this is one of the parts I've been after for some time in my quest to get all metal components for my ESB Fett and is from the last ever run of these so I was lucky to get one.

There's still quite a few parts I'm waiting for before I can really get this costume underway, all of which has been from special runs done by various people in the US so it's a long wait for everything to get here but when items do finally arrive it feels great to know that you've got yet another excellent component and that one step closer to the finished article.

Functional Leather Belt
My ESB belt has finally arrived biggrin.gif
It was well worth the wait - it's all real leather and the pouches are functional as well; as always this was made in the states and shipped in.

EE-3 Sling
Along with my belt came my leather rifle sling for my EE-3 (still to be built):

this is going to look awsome mate smilie.gif

I always wanted to do a Fett costume, but until I win the lottery, or rob a bank - it'll have to wait sad.gif

ESB Sidearm & Holster
My ESB Sidearm & Holster finally arrived the other day; I've been waiting for this for ages now so I was happy to see it arrive just before October 1st!

It's screen accurate with the replica speargun holster but does need some work to get it to look more realistic, especially the blaster which I plan to clean up a lot, replace some parts with aluminium and give it a much better paint job than it currently has.

Accurate ESB Gloves
From yet another run on The Dented helmet these are really nice gloves and are very accurate.

As you can see the gloves are darker than the SE/ROTJ gloves and feature slightly padded white areas instead of these just being sewn straight on; they have the button on the lower palm as they should.

They need weathering of course but I'll probably send them along to Daz to ensure the weathering is consistent.

Beacon & Stabilizer
The last of the all-metal parts have arrived so the main work to finish this costume is getting closer!

The stabilizer is machined from one piece of aluminium, the beacon is also one piece and hollow as is its screw thread base to alow a light to be fitted which I will now be able to sort out.

I can't wait to get this costume finished, it's taken me ages to source all the little parts I really want for it before I get the main items from Bobamaker - there's still a few more bits and pieces still to come and a few I still need to find but it's really getting there now.
Helmboy
That stuff is looking really incredible mate.

Dust, I have been asked by a collector mate who's doin an ESB boba if I could possibly source him a webley flare gun (yes, a real ww2 one, fuxache!!)

Are these tough to find, real metal ones??
the DustRoom
Sorry; they're like rocking horse shit covered in pixie dust mate.

The next best thing is the Sidewinder resin cast which I have.
the DustRoom
It's been a while since my last update but I have just been sent pictures of the last piece of the puzzle!

I am now ready to get Bobamaker on the job to create & finish the rest of the costume biggrin.gif

These are the Wookie braids I have been waiting for for the past god knows how long - I've been on the waiting list for bloody ages but I've just been sent the following pics and they're absolutely stunning!

These braids are made by Julie from The Dented Helmet; she makes them from real horse hair and they look unbelievably good and way better than anything I have ever seen!

I started this project sourcing the best of the best and I really do believe that I will have one of if not the best ESB Fett costume in the UK.

I can't help if I'm fussy wink.gif

I also can't help spending my ESB Fett fund on other shit either LOL
the DustRoom
The Wookie braids arrived today and they're awesome!

It's the little things like this that really make the Fett when you get up close; this costume is going to be amazing once completed.

I might be replacing the gauntlets now as MOW has made them even better now LOL.

the webley isnt that rare, you just need to know where to look, or have someone who can find you ANYTHING military!

www.tanksalot.co.uk

email Nick, ask him what your after, if he cant get it, you cant get it! (military) He owns the only private owned Challenger 1! hmmmmmm! and his armoury is to die for, genuinely, Leeds armouries come close to the variety of modern deacts and sect 5 firearms he has, I was in gun porn heaven!

Sidearm Upgrade
The sidearm I bought a while back wasn't the best quality and I did mean to modify it to make it much better and more realistic.

I have just bought a full aluminium barrel for it, this will be fitted and the whole blaster reworked to look much better than it currently does:

However...

New Sidearm!
Recently the sidearm has been accurately identified as an old diving speargun/harpoon - it's a Technisub 'Pulce 40' Speargun (see this thread on the Dented helmet):

The front housing of the speargun was removed along with the red plastic trigger lock (not pictured) and the rear clip, the grip section and housing was then painted brown; other than that it was the standard Pulce 40.

As you can see this looks nothing like my existing ESB sidearm; this was based on (I believe) the Bespin blaster as the sidearm is never removed from the holster on screen and there are no other clear images either.

Bespin Blaster:

The Bespin blaster was based on a Nemrod Speargun; most likely the Galeon:

It would appear that the ESB Fett Sidearm was based on this with modifications to the barrel and rear to make it look like the parts that can be seen on screen but is now shown to be highly inaccurate.

Screen grab and a Pulce 40 in a nemrod holster:

* Pulce 40 in Nemrod Holster pictured above from volkerc on The Dented Helmet.

The Pulce 40 was held in a Nemrod Mini "Clipper" Speargun holster; this has been known for some time and my existing holster is a cast from one anyway so there's no worries there.

My existing sidearm is perfectly acceptable as you don't see much of it and the parts that you do are relatively accurate in appearance but to get the costume as close to 100% accurate as possible you really need the real item.

So - I've managed to blag one of these (early picture - will include the trigger):

This has been created from plastic made casts of a genuine Pulce 40 (just like the real one) and machined aluminium components (none of your usual resin all-in-one's here); look at the level of detail that's been put into this (real one at the top/left):

I was never happy with my sidearm but wanted to make the best of what I had (and what was previously available) but finally having a true screen accurate version is brilliant!

Who made this possible?
The truly screen accurate ESB Sidearm was created using a genuine Pulce 40 owned by volkerc; the cast and machined parts was created by Mojo-Fett; both from The Dented Helmet forum.

Nice to see some more of us Brits creating some superb Fett props!
Newsh
Coool - when do you get all the parts? I mean the ones Daz is doing
the DustRoom
Well; the idea is to send Daz all the bits I have (that are relevant to what he's going to produce) and he will complete the costume including painting and weathering.

I'm just waiting to raise the funds now really as I have everything that I need and can always upgrade/swap a few items in the future if necessary.

If it wasn't for that muhassive tax bill mad.gif...
