Ok, the first 7 models were established in the first 2 series of Battlestar Galactica. There are 7 models in the cylon fleet, and they are able to download and ressurrect when killed. They are known as:
  • Number One (Brother Cavil)
  • Number Two (Leoben Conoy)
  • Number Three (D'Anna Biers)
  • Number Four (Simon)
  • Number Five (Aaron Doral)
  • Number Six (Caprica-Six / Head Six / Shelley Godfrey / Gina Inviere / Natalie)
  • Number Eight (Lt. Sharon "Boomer" Valerii / Lt. Sharon "Athena" Agathon)

We also learn that there are 5 other Cylon models, that are lost to the Cylon fleet. They have no model numbers and are said to be 'fundamentally different' by producer Ronald D Moore. At the end of Season 3 we learn that 4 of the 'Final Five' are within the fleet, and at the end of episode 3.20 (Crossroads), the identies of the four are revealed as:
  • Col. Saul Tigh
  • Chief PO. Galen Tyrol
  • Lt. Samuel T Anders
  • Tory Foster

During the first half of Season 4 we are left to speculate on the identity of the Fifth and final Cylon. It is then revealed at the end of episode 4.13 (Sometimes a Great Notion) that Ellen Tigh is the fifth and final Cylon. In a flashback experinced by Col.Tigh where he sees the distruction of earth 200o years ago, Ellen tells Saul that 'Everything is in place' and they will be 'reborn again, together.'

This leaves us the mystery of Starbuck. We saw her Viper explode in a vortex and she apparently persished, yet in 'Crossroads' she returned in a brand new Mk2 Viper with the same tail number, and claimed to know where Earth was. When the fleet arrived on Earth, Starbuck and Number Two found the remians of her Viper, and apparently the body of Starbuck, complete with Dogtags. So how did she and her Viper re-appear after this apparent fatal crash?

So is Starbuck a Cylon too - or is it something different?

Also a mystery is Lt. Anastasia 'Dee' Dualla. Why did Dee shoot herself, and what were those trinkets she found on earth that freaked her out so much? She was the only one to have strange feelings on Earth, other than the Cylons. Why?

My theory is there may possibly be another Cylon. There are 12 models in all, but 13 colonies.

Why not a 13th Cylon, for the 13th Colony? It could be Dee, or Starbuck perhaps?

Or are they all Cylons...........

Oi!! You nicked my idea about Dee tongue.gif

I do think there is something weird about her in that episode though. I mean, she gets to Earth with everyone else and finds a game of Jacks on the beach which seem to push her over the edge. She appears to have some recognition of the game and she is the only human who we see find something which she knows.

After finding the Jacks, she gets back to Galactica and appears to be okay again, even meeting up with Lee for a lovely night out (or so it seems) and than BANG!! We later see Lee going through her belongings and finding the same Jacks whch she collected off the beach.

Now, maybe I'm reading to much into all this, but it just seems a little to focused on her to have no other meaning....

It wouldn't surprise me if she pops up again in the next few episodes

And as for everyone else...

I reakon that the whole Starbuck story is just in there as a curveball. I'll be very disappointed if we find out that she is another Cylon after all (although at this point I admit that I simply can't explain the whole knowing where Earth is thing and her shiny new Viper). If she is a Cylon, should she not have had the memory of the crashed 'Starbuck' downloaded and know what happened?

And what's to say that there are only 12 models? If the first seven didn't know who the final five were, what's to say that there aren't additional models that they have no knowledge of whatsoever

It wouldn't really surprise me if we find out that the whole Fleet are Cylons at the end, or if not the whole fleet, many more than the 12 we now know of

Whilst I like the idea of Ellen coming back as the last Cylon, I do think there is room for at least a handful more Toasters out there biggrin.gif

I'll be really disappointed if its Ellen - she's not really important to the overall plot.

WTF is with there being cylons 2000 years ago, and WTF is with the Thrace viper/body... looking forward to getting answers but the series is too dman slow so far. I wish they'd kept the pace of the first series instead of stringing it out with loads of turd filler... just my opinion - feel free to disagree!

Bit of a spin but what if they're not in the right time period? That would explain a lot I guess?

I think they are all Cylons ..had some sort of civil war and some forgot the original programming, kidding themselves to be a seperate race (Humans) who by the way originally developed them but wiped themselves out in a nuclear holocaust.

i thought about that too Pointy - but when they found those skeletons they said they were cylon, so they must be different somehow.

Think Dusty has a point there... guess we'll have to wait and see!

Well, not a big fan of the Re-Imagined BSG. I saw some seasons on TV here, but not the ending and the final season that will be aired next year, but from what i read, ending wasn't good for my taste.

Anyway, there are some comics around, called "Battlestar Galactica: Final Five" that are sorting some things out.
I am a comic guy, so i found interesting to read them.

Just in case you don't know about the already.

For the record, i would prefer if the Admiral was Cylon, or someone other you didn't expect that he or she is.
I mean, Saul was ok, but Ellen or the president's assistant didn't heaved anything special in series... wacko.gif
